The Comeau Family

Russell’s Story
Russell has many diagnoses, is trach dependent, and is G-Tube fed, but his medical journey continues. Over the next few years, he will require additional surgeries to address his cleft palate, lymphatic malformation, trach, and G-tube. Despite these challenges, Russell’s resilience shines through, inspiring everyone around him.
His family has faced immense challenges as well. Shay, Russell’s mother, has been battling breast cancer since September 2024, leaving her feeling fatigued and unwell after each infusion. Her treatment has required her husband, Matt, to step in as Russell’s primary caregiver. Unfortunately, Matt has had to take a leave from work to care for both Shay and Russell, creating significant emotional and financial strain for the family.
The support they have received has been a lifeline during this difficult time. It has allowed the family to focus on Russell’s care and their collective healing, providing hope for a brighter future.
This family is deeply grateful for the generosity of others, which has made it possible for them to navigate these challenges with courage and determination. If you’d like to donate directly to this family, please click the ‘Family Donations’ above.
